[Portrait] David M. McNally, Chief Information Officer

Follower Products SAS, an innovative French start-up, is made up of a team of 6 people. This week, we invite you to get to know David M. McNally, Chief Information Officer.

Graduated in 1993 from ETH-Zurich with a Ph.D. in experimental physics for research performed on the L3 detector at CERN and held post-doctoral positions at UCSD and CERN where he continued his research focusing principally on data analysis, detector calibration and computer visualization.

In 1997 he joined EPFL as project manager researching computer cost-performance optimisation within an industry sponsored programme. Then In 2000 the Genista group of companies (Tokyo) as managing director of Genimedia SA (Lausanne – Switzerland) developing and selling perceptual quality video analytics to optimise resource allocations in emerging 3G cellular networks.

In 2004 he co-founded Photonique SA (Geneva – Switzerland) which became the first commercial developer and vendor of silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) technology. He was member of the Swiss national body to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC29/WG1 (JPEG standardisation committee) and managed a range of H2020 and InnoSuisse projects.

David joined Follower Products (Dijon – France) in 2016 as Chief Information Officer where he remains responsible for architecture, implementation and deployment of the back-end data processing and customer facing services for a range of advanced IoT geo-location and telemetry products.
